One of their 3-a-day, every day
As a parent, you know that a healthy, balanced diet is essential for your children’s physical and mental development. Growing kids need an array of nutrients - including vitamins and minerals as well as protein, carbohydrates and essential fatty acids.
Milk and milk products have long been recognised as an important component of just such a diet - indeed the Department of Health and Children recommends children have three portions of dairy foods per day. Calcium requirements increase during the teenage years (11-17 yrs), therefore, teenagers should aim for five portions of dairy per day.
However, we all know that a recommendation is one thing; actually getting children to eat what’s been recommended is quite another! Signing your child up to receive milk at school every day is an easy, cost-effective way to ensure they receive at least one of their recommended three portions of dairy every day.
